About the Author
The Honourable Mr. Justice Lloyd W. Houlden is the Chairman of Gardiner Roberts LLP in Toronto, Ontario. He was appointed to the bench in 1969 as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Ontario and was subsequently elevated to the Ontario Court of Appeal in 1974, from which he retired in 1997. As a justice of the Supreme Court of Ontario and the Ontario Court of Appeal, he sat on most of Canada's major insolvency and restructuring cases.
Mr. Justice Geoffrey B. Morawetz was appointed to the bench of the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario in 2005. Prior to his appointment, he was a partner with the firm Goodmans LLP, practising primarily in the areas of corporate restructuring, insolvency litigation and secured transactions. He is a member of the Insolvency Institute of Canada and is a past Chair of the Insolvency Section of the Ontario Bar Association.
