Preparing for Heavy Equipment Occupations provides practice with three Essential Skills: Reading Text, Document Use and Numeracy. The publication is divided into three sections.

Section 1 reviews math foundations including fractions, decimals, ratio/proportion and volume. Section 2 provides a strategy and practice for solving word problems. Section 3 has problem sets which reflect the technical training requirements of apprentices.
An answer key is provided at the end of each section. This publication does not require specific background knowledge about heavy equipment occupations.
