Face to Face with Your Competition: Approaches to Group Interviews DVD
Requiring several applicants to complete some kind of shared exercise, the group interview is designed to assess collaborative and team-building skills as well as personal initiative. This program helps students prepare for joint interview situations and the demands they make on applicants.
Starting with one-on-one and group case studies to illustrate specific contrasts, the video explores segments that make up a typical multi-applicant interview, including an introduction, an ice-breaker, a group activity, an individual assessment, and a wrap-up.
The roles of the facilitator—often an HR official—and the observers or assessors are also explored. Viewable/printable educational resources are available online. (24 minutes)
