This latest edition of the Compendium of Neuropsychological Tests will assist practitioners in selecting appropriate testing measures for their patients.

The Compendium of Neuropsychological Tests is written in an easy-to-read reference format. It covers topics such as the basic aspects of neuropsychological assessment as well as the theoretical background, norms, utility, reliability, and validity of neuropsychological tests.

"Know Your Tools" was the driving force behind this new edition. The purpose of "Know Your Tools" is to provide readers with an enhanced understanding of neuropsychological assessment grounded in empirical evidence and research; a greater understanding of critical issues relevant to the broader practice of neuropsychological assessment; and a stronger working knowledge of the specific strengths and weaknesses of the tests in their test portfolio.

The first two chapters present basic psychometric concepts and principles. Chapters 3 and 4 consider practical aspects of the history-taking interview and the assessment process; chapter 5 provides guidelines on report-writing; and chapters 6 through 16 contain detailed, critical reviews of specific neuropsychological tests and divisions of the specific topics of intelligence, achievement, executive function, attention, memory, language, visual perception, somatosensory and olfactory function, mood/personality, and response bias. Tables are included that summarize relevant features of tests within each domain so that readers can easily compare measures.
